Minnesota Department of Health Reaffirms St. Francis Regional Medical Center's Statewide Trauma System Status

The Minnesota Department of Health recently reaffirmed St. Francis Regional Medical Center's designation as a Level 3 Trauma Hospital.

Established in August 2005, the Minnesota Statewide Trauma System created a voluntary, inclusive network of trained and equipped trauma care providers throughout the state, ensuring optimal trauma care is available and accessible everywhere.

The rigorous designation process includes an outside review of the hospital’s resources and capability to care for trauma patients, in which St. Francis met the standards of commitment, clinical and equipment resources, and staff training.

Receiving its first Level 3 designation in 2008, St. Francis continues to demonstrate commitment to the vital role hospitals, ambulance services, health care professionals and communities play in the care and management of trauma patients.
