Star Tribune Names St. Francis Regional Medical Center a 2018 Top 150 Workplace for Sixth Straight Year
SHAKOPEE, Minn. (June 25, 2018) – Star Tribune’s annual Top Workplaces report has named St. Francis Regional Medical Center one of the best places to work in the state of Minnesota for the sixth consecutive time since 2012. St. Francis was ranked 18th on the large company list. Star Tribune’s Top 150 Workplaces were announced last week, and featured in the Sunday print edition of the newspaper on June 24th.

“I’m proud that our employees are excited to be a part of St. Francis, and this recognition is a valuable way to measure that engagement,” said Mike McMahan, president at St. Francis Regional Medical Center. “St. Francis’ staff has grown almost 20 percent since last year, and we commit every day to providing high-quality care with a compassionate, community feel even – and especially – as we grow and expand.”

The Star Tribune Top Workplaces team partners with a third-party organization to conduct an independent survey among employees at participating companies, and evaluates workplaces based on engagement, organizational health and satisfaction. Rankings are composite scores calculated purely on the basis of employee responses, and nearly two-thirds of St. Francis employees (who are at least part-time) participated.

“We’re so appreciative of our staff who bring so much care, expertise and love to work each day,” said Sally Haack, vice president and director of human resources at St. Francis. “St. Francis employees commit to supporting our patients and one another, and that helps make St. Francis a unique place to work for healthcare professionals. Our values are cultivated by the caring actions, attitude and personal integrity of our staff.”

St. Francis Rehab & Sports Medicine (formerly Valley Rehab Services) is also on the list this year, ranking number six on the small companies list. Now that they’re fully integrated into the St. Francis community, the Rehab & Sports Medicine team’s strong, results-driven culture of compassionate care and teamwork and has been a great fit for both organizations.

“Earning a Top 150 Workplaces ranking for several consecutive years is an honor,” said Jeff Foss, rehab services manager. “Our upbeat and optimistic staff members not only benefit our organization’s culture, the positive energy of our clinic radiates to what really matters – our patients.”

More than 2,400 companies were invited to participate in the 2018 Top Workplaces program, and more than 71,000 employees statewide took the opportunity to share feedback about their workplace. For more information about the report, visit startribune.com/topworkplaces.
