Apr 11, 2016 by St. Francis Regional Medical Center

Dr. Monte Johnson has joined St Francis Regional Medical Center as the next Vice President of Medical Affairs (VPMA). Dr. Johnson comes to St. Francis from Lakeview Clinic and Ridgeview Medical Center, where he served as a Family Medicine provider and held a number of medical leadership roles since 2002. In addition to his medical practice, Dr. Johnson served as the credentialing chairman, coding and documentation physician liaison, and in medical staff leadership at Ridgeview. Dr. Johnson received his MD degree from the University of Minnesota and did his family practice residency at Methodist in St Louis Park. After growing up in Anoka, his interest in the medical field began as an EMT during college. In his free time, Dr. Johnson enjoys golfing, basketball, sailing, and fishing. He lives in Victoria with wife Jennifer, and sons Braden and Tanner. In addition to his responsibilities related to the VPMA role at St. Francis, he will serve as the Utilization Management Medical Director for Allina Health and will practice clinically as a Hospitalist at St. Francis. He is excited about the growth opportunities at St Francis and the possibility of providing as many services locally as possible while maintaining the welcoming atmosphere at the hospital.
